Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. You will manage a caseload of up to 10 students, implementing academic and behavior programming and overseeing IEP implementation.

Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and Direct Instruction, plus experience with challenging behaviors, are valued. You’ll collaborate with BCBA and staff to design student-centered programming in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• CT certification in special education and DSAP/Long-Term Substitute eligibility are required or preferred.
• Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and Precision Teaching.
• Experience with students with challenging behaviors is desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of referral procedures and ability to stay composed under pressure.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of up to 10 students within the classroom.
• Implement academic and behavior programming and oversee each student’s IEP.
• Supervise and delegate to Instructional Assistants and ABA Therapists; collaborate with the BCBA and team.
