Job summary

Onward Education partners with a school in Highland Park, IL to hire a dedicated LBS1 Special Education Teacher. You will deliver instruction to students with diverse needs in a self-contained setting aligned to IEP goals.

You will collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers, monitor student progress, and ensure compliant documentation to support growth and inclusion throughout the school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Active Illinois Special Education teaching license (required), LBS1.
• Experience working with elementary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to students with disabilities in accordance with their IEPs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications in collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation and participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reviews.
• Support positive behavior interventions and create a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes student independence and success.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
