Your Role as a Special Education Teacher
  • Develop and implement IEPs, lesson plans, and instructional strategies tailored to students' individual needs.
  • Prepare and submit documentation, including progress reports and evaluation reports, timely and accurately.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and staff to support student progress.
  • Maintain an organized classroom, implement behavior management strategies, and support behavior interventions.
  • Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and document behavior data for evaluations and plans.
  • Ensure safety, adhere to policies (including confidentiality and PPE use), and assist students with self-care as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active PA teaching certification (e.g., Private Academic Certificate, Level I or II Special Education Certification K-12).
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree and at least six credit hours in special education may qualify for a Temporary Private Academic Certificate.
  • All teachers must obtain their PA license by August 1, 2025.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
