Job summary

Glade Run Lutheran Services in Utica, PA is seeking a full-time educator to create a supportive classroom grounded in academic standards and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. You will build strong relationships, adapt instruction to individual student needs, and assess progress with parents and staff.

The role requires PA Special Education certification, a Bachelor's in Education or related field, and completion of crisis/physical intervention training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field is required.
• Completion and passing of agency Crisis/Physical Intervention training.
• Eligibility for PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance, and Arrest/Conviction Report.

Responsibilities

• Create a learning environment using academic standards, IEP goals, clear expectations, and Positive Interventions and Supports to help students thrive.
• Build relationships with students to create an instructional design process that plans for adaptations and meets individual student needs.
• Implement appropriate assessments of student learning aligned to instructional goals and adapted to individual students.
• Establish clear expectations and classroom routines to engage students and maximize instruction.
• Model appropriate interactions, communication, and conduct as a tool for managing student behavior; demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness.
• Implement student IEPs, document progress, communicate with parents, attend meetings, and use informal and formal assessments to monitor student learning.
• Improve teaching practice through reflection and participation in professional development.
