Job summary

The Learning Center by Theracare is hiring Special Education Teachers for on-site work in Tempe under a 1099 contract. You will join a collaborative team of educators and therapists delivering therapeutic education and individualized plans for students in ABA centers.

You will use curriculum and support to serve K-2 students; strong teamwork, communication, and organization are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or a related field.
• State teaching certification.
• Experience working with kindergarten through second-grade students.
• Experience collaborating with speech therapists, occupational therapists, ABA providers, and other related service providers.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Yearly Learning Plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
• Collaborate with parents and therapists to integrate and support students.
• Provide direct instruction to students in small groups of 1:3 or individual settings, utilizing various teaching strategies and techniques.
• Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction to ensure academic growth and development.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student performance and progress.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on support strategies.

You will be given the curriculum, supplies, and support to work with students in ABA centers. This role requires a teacher who is strong in teamwork, communication, and organization.
