Job summary

Stoneham High School in Stoneham, MA is seeking a licensed Special Education (Moderate Disabilities 5-12) teacher to join the Special Education Department for the 2026-2027 school year. Ideal candidates have experience delivering Special Education instruction to adolescent learners in a secondary setting, SEI endorsement, and knowledge of evaluating tools (WIAT-4, GORT-5).

They will collaborate with staff to implement IEPs, differentiate instruction, and support student progress.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create a positive learning environment in co-taught and Learning Strategies settings aligned with UDL standards.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator to align services with the student’s service delivery grid.
• Facilitate and analyze academic testing.
• Act as Team Chair for Annual Review meetings for students on caseload.
• Write, edit, and develop effective IEPs.
• Co-teach with a general education teacher in core-4 content areas.
• Provide consultation to general education teachers on accommodations and instructional modifications.
• Differentiate instruction and implement specially designed instruction to meet all students’ needs.
• Manage caseload including parent communication and interdepartmental collaboration.
• Track and analyze student data to identify progress and write progress reports

Stoneham High School has an openings for licensed Special Education (Moderate Disabilities 5 -12) Teachers to join our Special Education Department for the 2026-2027 school year.

Ideal candidates have experience providing Special Education instruction and services to adolescent-aged students within the secondary school setting.

Ideal Candidates:

• Licensed in Moderate Disabilities 5-12
• SEI Endorsement
• Classroom experience within the secondary setting
• Knowledge of and experience with completing and analyzing academic evaluation assessments (e.g., WIAT-4, GORT-5, etc.)
• Knowledge of special education law and policy
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

Responsibilities include:

• Creating a positive learning environment for students within the co-taught and Learning Strategies settings that align with Universally Designed Learning (UDL) standards.
• Collaborating with the Special Education Coordinator to support instruction and to ensure the delivery of services is in alignment with the student’s service delivery grid.
• Faciliatate and analyze Academic Testing
• Acting as Team Chair for Annual Review meetings for students on their caseload
• Writing, editing, and developing effective Individual Education Programs (IEPs)
• Co-teaching alongside a general education teacher within a core-4 content area
• Provide consultation to general education teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, and the needs of students
• Providing accommodations and modifications to students within the co-taught and Learning Strategies setting
• Differentiating research-based instruction and implementing specially designed instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Caseload management (e.g., parent communication, interdepartmental collaboration, etc.)
• Tracking and analyzing student data to identify progress and write progress reports
