Job summary

Boothby Therapy Services in Wales, Maine is hiring a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to serve grades 5–8 on a full-time schedule.

You will work with a supportive team, including guidance from a dedicated Service Delivery Manager, ongoing mentorship, and collaboration with experienced SLPs, OTs, PTs, school psychologists, and district teams. Competitive pay and ample professional growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Maine Special Education certification or eligibility for certification.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Experience in school-based special education settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction to students receiving special education services.
• Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions.
• Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional growth.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
