Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Rockford, IL. The role works under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator to provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through grade 12.

The position emphasizes teamwork in planning and implementing student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• One year of teaching experience preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Elementary, Secondary and Special Teaching types accepted.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, K–12.
• Participate in planning and implementation of student programs with general education staff.
• Offer special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation to staff and families.
