Job summary

Soloh Partners in Plainfield, NJ is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to support K–8 charter school students. The ideal candidate has recent experience with elementary students, especially K–4, and will provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities.

You will collaborate with general education teachers, differentiate instruction, manage classrooms effectively, and participate in IEP meetings and professional development.

Qualifications

• NJ DOE Instructional Certificate – Students with Disabilities required.
• 1–2 years of recent experience with K–4 students required.
• Recent experience with elementary or middle school students required.
• Experience with students with disabilities in a school setting required.
• Strong knowledge of special education practices, IEP implementation, and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families.
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

** Position Overview**

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to support students in a K–8 charter school setting in Plainfield, NJ. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working with elementary students, particularly the K–4 population, and be able to provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities.

Candidates should have strong classroom management skills, experience differentiating instruction, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

** Key Responsibilities**

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with IEPs and curriculum standards.
• Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans based on individual student needs.
• Support students in achieving their academic, behavioral, and developmental goals.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies outlined in students' IEPs.
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely IEP-related and classroom documentation.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and other school staff.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and educational needs.
• Utilize positive classroom management strategies to create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Differentiate instruction to address varying learning abilities and needs.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, professional development, and other school activities as required.
• Support students' social-emotional development and encourage independence and self-advocacy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
