Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. in North Charleston, SC is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to implement IEP-driven instruction in inclusive classrooms. The role collaborates with general education staff, provides SDI, and ensures compliance with IEP processes.

The candidate will monitor progress, participate in IEP meetings, and communicate with families while supporting a range of services from inclusion to autism programs as assigned.

Qualifications

• Holds or is eligible for a SC Special Education teaching certificate.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and IEP processes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEP goals and SDI for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to plan and assess instruction in inclusive settings.
• Provide accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based interventions.

Special Education Teacher – North Charleston , South Carolina

Local Pay: $56.42 /hour

Travel Pay:

Travel Rate (based on 37.5 hours): Hourly $21.72, Stipend (Lodging $966.00 + M&I $644.00) = $1,610.00

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEP goals and specially designed instruction (SDI) for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to plan, deliver, and assess instruction in inclusive classroom settings.
• Provide accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based interventions to support student success.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and maintain required compliance records.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Use data-driven decision-making to adjust instruction and improve student outcomes.
• Support students across a continuum of services, including inclusion, resource, self-contained, behavioral support, autism, and low-incidence disability programs depending on assignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Hold or be eligible for a valid South Carolina teaching certificate in Special Education.
• Demonstrate knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and IEP processes.
• Possess strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
