Special Education Teacher

AB Staffing is looking for an experienced Special Education Teacher that is available for the 2024/2025 school year.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Valid North Carolina Educator License in Exceptional Children Curriculum.
3. Proficiency in the subject area; experience with case management, paperwork, compliance, and IEPs.
4. At least one year of teaching experience with students with various disabilities, including behavior disorders and learning delays (preferred).
5. Strong communication and organizational skills.
6. Ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrate initiative.
7. Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, and lift up to 25-40 pounds as needed.

Job Description:

Caseload and classroom details will vary based on location. Recruitment specialists will discuss specifics upon application to match your experience and skills.

Contract through the 2024/2025 school year – 37.5 to 40 hours per week, following the academic calendar.

Responsibilities include:

1. Modifying and developing curriculum tailored to students’ learning modalities.
2. Developing lesson plans aligned with standards and supporting inclusion students.
3. Communicating with parents, administrators, and professionals for IEP and evaluation meetings.
4. Serving as IEP facilitator and collaborator between special education and general education teachers.
5. Gathering data, updating IEPs, and completing progress reports.
6. Assisting in identifying and implementing interventions.
7. Maintaining student data for grading and IEP monitoring.
8. Attending professional meetings and training workshops.

Salary:

$43-$47/hr, approximately $1,612-$1,762 per week.
