Staten Island Chamber of Commerce is seeking passionate Elementary or Middle School Special Education Teachers to join our ICT-enabled educational team. You will design and implement individualized instruction plans that meet the needs of students with special needs and foster confidence and achievement.

You will collaborate with families, therapists, and educators to ensure compliance with laws while delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education preferred.
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Work with Gen Ed teacher to develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs.
• Educate students using varied instructional techniques and resources, including technology.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding progress and challenges.
• Create a positive learning environment through effective classroom management.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate progress and adapt teaching methods.
• Collaborate with educators, specialists, and support staff to support each student.
