Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services in NYC, NY is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support children aged birth–21 across home, school, and clinic settings. The role focuses on implementing individualized education plans and coordinating with families and clinical staff to promote progress.

Starting wage ranges from $55.00 to $80.00 per hour, with compensation based on experience and education.

Qualificações

• Must hold one of the NYS certifications/licenses listed in the job description.
• Experience with pediatric therapy and diverse settings is preferred.
• Ability to educate families on intervention strategies and maintain HIPAA-compliant records.

Responsabilidades

• Provide pediatric therapy services and/or evaluations to children birth–21 years in natural settings.
• Educate families and caregivers on intervention strategies and carry-over.
• Work across homes, daycare centers, preschools, clinics, and community settings.
• Follow patient-specific therapy plans and document progress; prepare progress reports.

Job Responsibilities for a Special Education Teacher:

• Provide pediatric therapy services and/or evaluations to children aged birth – 21 years in a natural setting.
• Educate families and caregivers on applicable intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as client homes, daycare homes/centers, preschools, clinics, and other community settings.
• Follow the unique therapy plan established for a family/child, plan for ongoing treatment and address identified goals while documenting progress.
• Prepare progress reports as indicated.
• Maintain child records and confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations). Required records must be submitted within the established timelines.

Requirements for a Special Education Teacher:

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses:
  o Students with Disabilities (Birth – 2) Initial or Professional Certification
  o Permanent Special Education Certification
  o TSHH Permanent Certification
  o TSLD Initial or Professional Certification
  o NYS Licensed Master Social Worker
  o NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

Starting Rate: $55-80
Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during theSpecial Education TeacherJob interview process.
