• Collaborate with general education teachers to support student access to grade‑level curriculum and meaningful participation in the general education setting.
• Coordinate services with related-service providers, counselors, behavior specialists, nurses, administrators, and other members of the student-support team.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate student progress, needs, and successes clearly and professionally with families.
• Provide guidance, direction, and support to paraprofessionals working with assigned students.
• Maintain accurate student records, service documentation, progress‑monitoring data, and other required special education records.
• Support students in developing academic skills, communication, independence, self‑regulation, and positive social interactions.
• Participate in collaborative team meetings, professional development, and building and district improvement efforts.

Position Summary

The Special Education Teacher works closely with students, families, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related-service providers, and administrators to ensure students receive appropriate services, make meaningful progress, and participate successfully in the school community.
