Birch Agency is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to support students in school-based settings in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Current openings are available in both elementary and high school separate settings, supporting students on extended content standards within highly supportive classroom environments.

• Provide differentiated instruction to students with varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.
• Deliver specialized instruction in separate classroom settings supporting students on extended content standards.
• Manage a classroom caseload of approximately 8 students with support from 2 teacher assistants.
• Implement positive behavior supports and effective classroom management strategies.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff trainings, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Adapt instructional materials and strategies to support individualized learning and functional skill development.
• Foster a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student achievement and independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred
• Active North Carolina Special Education teaching certification required (or ability to obtain through reciprocity/provisional pathways).
