Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a qualified Special Education Teacher to provide services in schools in the Lewisville, TX area on a travel basis. The role involves delivering instruction to K–12 students and collaborating with general education staff to plan and implement individualized programs.

The candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree, a valid teaching certificate, and relevant state certifications (Elementary/Secondary/Special Teaching) with preferred LBS1 endorsement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification types: Elementary, Secondary, and Special Teaching (preferred).
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current health certificate per contract or state regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, K–12, under supervision of the Special Education Program Administrator.
• Collaborate with general education staff and team members in planning and implementing student programs.
• Participate in planning, instruction, and consultation for special education services.

Education

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has acommitment to team participation in planning and implementation of studentprograms including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultationwith general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited universitypreferred

• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state,contract/district regulations

• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environmentpreferred
