Responsibilities
  • Assist other professional staff in diagnosis of learning disorders, development of planned remediation, and evaluation of student progress.
  • Teach personal development skills such as goal setting, independence, and self‑advocacy.
  • Administer specialized testing as necessary.
  • Follow‑up with concerns from teachers, parents, and/or administrative staff.
  • Prepare student reports and activities as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Teach socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
Qualifications
  • An active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Special Education; candidates with Special Education K‑12 are preferred.
  • Willingness to go through required clearances and training (four clearances, mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test) within a week of acceptance.
  • Capacity for sitting throughout the eight‑hour day.
