Job summary

Onward Search Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join a school team in Merrimack County. Location: Hooksett School District, serving Grades 3-5 for the 2026/2027 school year.

The role requires developing and managing IEPs, delivering instruction across settings, and collaborating with general education and related service staff. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential for meeting timelines and ensuring student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Active New Hampshire special education licensure or eligibility.
• Knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• School-based experience preferred (but not required).

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction aligned to students’ IEPs.
• Develop, implement, and manage IEPs, including goals, accommodations/modifications, service minutes, and progress monitoring.
• Deliver instruction in inclusion, resource, or self-contained settings based on student needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure curriculum access.
• Use data to track progress, adjust instruction, and document growth toward IEP goals.
• Support positive behavior and social-emotional development using trauma-informed practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with timelines and state/federal requirements.
• Participate in IEP meetings and parent/guardian communication.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and learning support aligned to students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
