Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher in Fort Wayne, IN. This contract-full-time role pays $50 per hour and requires 35 hours per week in a school setting.

The incumbent will support K–12 students with special education needs and work with the team to plan and implement individualized education programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations.
• Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification; Elementary/Secondary/Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with professional standards; CPR, health certificate, and TB/PPD may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through grade 12.
• Participate in planning and implementation of student programs including instruction and consultation with general education staff.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator and team to support student progress.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has acommitment to team participation in planning and implementation of studentprograms including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultationwith general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited universitypreferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state,contract/district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environmentpreferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard ElementaryTeaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard SecondaryTeaching preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
