Onward Education is partnering with a Middlesex County school district in Massachusetts to hire a Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This on-site role supports a substantially separate classroom for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing highly specialized instruction and structured supports to help students thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally.

Salary is $50–$55 per hour with a 35-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts SPED licensure or eligibility is required.
• Experience supporting students with ASD in substantially separate settings.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals and state standards.
• Create a structured classroom environment with predictable routines and clear expectations.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior support plans with fidelity.
• Collect data and monitor student progress; adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and general education staff.

Job Summary:

In this role, you'll lead instruction in a specialized setting designed for students who require intensive, individualized support. Programming may include evidence-based strategies (such as structured teaching/ABA-informed approaches where appropriate), social-emotional and behavioral supports, sensory accommodations, and assistive/adaptive technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals and state standards.
• Create a structured, supportive classroom environment with predictable routines and clear expectations.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior support plans with fidelity.
• Collect data and monitor student progress; adjust instruction based on student performance.
• Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and general education staff.
• Communicate consistently with families and participate in IEP meetings and required documentation.

Qualifications:

• Licensed/eligible Special Education Teacher (Massachusetts preferred, per district requirements).
• Experience supporting students with ASD and/or significantly impacted learning needs in substantially separate settings.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance documentation.
• Effective classroom management and ability to implement behavior and sensory supports.
• Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills with staff and families.
