Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher in Danville, VA. The role reports to the Special Education Program Administrator and focuses on delivering quality services to K-12 students with special needs. Responsibilities include planning, instruction, tutorial support, and collaboration with general education staff.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree, valid state teaching certificates, and relevant endorsements. CPR and health certificates are also required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• One year of teaching experience preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Elementary, Secondary and Special Teaching standards listed as preferred.
• LBS1 Endorsement preferred.
• CPR certification where applicable.
• Current health certificate and TB/PPD as required by contract or state regulation.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support students in special education from kindergarten through grade 12.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator and general education staff to plan and implement student programs.
• Provide special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation to general education staff as needed.
