Job summary

Gifted Healthcare is seeking a Special Education teacher to collaborate with general education staff, administrators, and families to develop IEPs and deliver individualized instruction.

You will teach and mentor students, assess progress, adapt lessons, and support families with home activities to reinforce classroom learning. This role also involves program development and requires a Master’s degree in education or special education, plus state licensure where applicable.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid state teaching license for Special Education.
• Experience collaborating on IEPs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
• Assess students and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with other classroom teachers, staff, and specialists
• Adapt lesson plans to meet each student’s specific needs and abilities
• Educate parental supports with behavior control and home activities designed to supplement classroom lessons

Responsibilities

Special Education teachers work with general education teachers, specialists, administrators, and parents to develop IEPs for students outlining their goals, milestones, and necessary services. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
• Assess students and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with other classroom teachers, staff, and specialists
• Adapt lesson plans to meet each student’s specific needs and abilities
