Job summary

Gifted Healthcare in Michigan is seeking dedicated Special Education teachers to develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with general education staff, and support students' goals.

You will mentor students, adapt lessons, and communicate with parents while enjoying guaranteed pay, weekly pay, and premium overtime on travel assignments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree is required.
• Experience with developing and implementing IEPs is expected.
• Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs.

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor students individually and in groups.
• Assess student progress and help develop IEPs with other teachers and specialists.
• Adapt and differentiate lessons to meet diverse needs and abilities.
• Communicate with parents and provide home activities to support learning.

Responsibilities

Special Education teachers work with general education teachers, specialists, administrators, and parents to develop IEPs for students outlining their goals, milestones, and necessary services. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
• Assess students and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with other classroom teachers, staff, and specialists
• Adapt lesson plans to meet each student’s specific needs and abilities
• Educate parental supports with behavior control and home activities designed to supplement classroom lessons
