Garfield Re-2 School District seeks a dedicated Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher for Wamsley Elementary School in Rifle, CO. The role involves providing instruction across a continuum of services, from self-contained to inclusion, in collaboration with general education staff.

The position is full-time (36 hours/week, 165 days/year) with a salary range starting at $44,731 and extending to $123,977 for experienced in-district staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Colorado teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
• Experience with inclusion and collaboration in a school setting.
• Ability to work effectively with paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, parents and district staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to special education students in settings ranging from self-contained to full inclusion in general education classrooms, with consultation and/or collaboration.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and assigned staff to implement modifications and accommodations per IEP.
• Work with paraprofessionals, families and district office staff to deliver high-quality educational services every day.

Position Summary: Responsible for providing special education students instruction in settings that allow a continuum of services from self-contained instruction to full inclusion in the general classroom through consultation and/or collaboration and/or co-teaching, with assigned general education teachers, to provide modifications and accommodations per students' Individual Education Plan Program (IEP). Responsible for working effectively with a team comprised of paraprofessionals, teachers,administrators, parents and District office staff with the purpose of providing quality educational services for each and every student, each and every day, without exception.
