Organization Summary

Reach was founded in 2011 by Chicago’s Jewish United Fund and Associated Talmud Torahs (ATT) to fill the need in Chicago’s Jewish Day Schools for capacity and expertise in serving children with diverse learning needs. Reach is an organization that values continuous learning and improvement, aligned with the philosophy of neurodiversity, and brings that perspective to its consulting and teaching work in schools. Reach’s mission is to support Jewish day schools in meeting the needs of all their students, including those with a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and challenges. Students can then access a Jewish education that is reflective of their families’ values. Reach achieves this by providing school administrators and teachers with innovative tools and best practices, and through a combination of teacher professional development, coaching, consultation, and ancillary services to students. Reach believes in creating a community of inclusion with the tenets that neurodiversity is normal, all individuals do well if they can, and learning should be approached from a strength‑based perspective.
