Job summary

Plan Bee Academy in Chesapeake, VA, seeks a Special Education Teacher to create an engaging, inclusive classroom for students with autism and related disabilities. You will design lessons with evidence-based instruction and behavioral supports to help every student reach goals.

You will collaborate with behavior specialists, therapists, and families, assess progress, and maintain documentation in accordance with state and school requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Eligibility for or possession of Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) certification with endorsement in special education or adaptive curriculum.
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning and IEPs.
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs using research-based strategies and behavior analytic principles.
• Collaborate with behavior specialists, therapists, and families to support progress.

What You'll Need
