Job summary

Plan Bee Academy seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to create an engaging and inclusive classroom for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related disabilities.

You will design lessons aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning and IEPs, using evidence-based instruction and behavioral supports to help each student progress academically and personally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Virginia certification with endorsement in special education or adaptive curriculum is required or eligible.
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills are essential.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lessons aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning and IEPs.
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs using evidence-based strategies and behavioral supports.
• Collaborate with behavior specialists, therapists, and families to support progress.
• Assess student performance and adjust instruction to promote mastery and engagement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student data, progress, and state/school compliance.

As a Special Education Teacher at Plan Bee Academy, you will create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment where students with diverse learning needs can achieve academic and personal success. You will design lessons that integrate evidence-based instruction and behavioral supports to help every student reach their goals.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
• Eligibility for or possession of Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) certification with endorsement in special education or adaptive curriculum
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills
• Valid Virginia driver’s license

What You'll Do

• Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs using research-based strategies and behavior analytic principles

• Maintain accurate documentation of student data, progress, and compliance with state and school requirements
