Job summary

Ampersand Therapy in Carbondale, CO is seeking an Affective Needs Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. You will provide individualized instruction and behavioral/social-emotional support while helping students build confidence and skills for success.

Join a therapist-led team focused on equity, mentorship, and ongoing professional growth. This in-person role requires a Colorado SPED endorsement and fingerprinting via OSPIS; compensation includes benefits and licensure

Qualifications

• Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license with Special Education endorsement.
• Fingerprinting through OSPIS is required.
• School-based experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs.
• Provide specialized instruction across academic subjects.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a structured, supportive environment.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs.
• Incorporate technology and resources to enhance learning.
