Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher to serve K-12 students with a focus on collaborative planning, individualized instruction, and consultation with general education staff. The role operates under the Special Education Program Administrator, ensuring high-quality services in accordance with district standards.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor's degree and an appropriate state teaching certificate, plus endorsement options (LBS1) and CPR/health screening as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
