Job summary

Syracuse City School District is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students under the supervision of licensed teachers, assisting with a range of subjects including ELA, math, science, social studies, and arts.

Position is 35 hours per week, 10 months per year. NYS TA certificates (Level I-III or Pre-Professional) required with fingerprint background check at a $104.50 cost. City residents encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• New York State Level I/II/III or Pre-Professional TA certificate required or pursuing
• Willingness to pass fingerprint-based background check
• Ability to assist students with health-related activities in SPED settings

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups with academic support
• Aid teachers in implementation of IEPs and student goals
• Record and maintain students' simple progress notes and records
• Support use of instructional resources and technology in instruction
• Assist with health-related needs (toileting, feeding, mobility) as required in SPED settings
