Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 hours or pass a State approved proficiency test.
• First Aid and CPR certification provided by the District when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in instructional program under supervision.
• Assist students with classroom and homework assignments.
• Provide specialized educational support (Braille, behavior management, signing).
• Use therapeutic holds when necessary as trained by a certified instructor.
• Test and record student skills, achievements, and progress.
• Support specific special educational program procedures.
• Maintain records on instructional and behavioral data as requested.
• Assist the teacher in maintaining a clean, attractive and safe learning environment.
• Report information about a child's development and behavior to teachers.
• Organizes and monitors the use of materials and supplies; supports clerical needs.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.
