Job summary

Palo Verde Elementary School in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking an Education Assistant to support grade-level activities and relieve teachers of clerical tasks. This 10-month position starts immediately and offers an hourly wage of $16.11, with a focus on improving student success across core subjects.

You will administer tests, support instructional programs, monitor students, and collaborate with teachers and families while ensuring accurate records and classroom upkeep are maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pre-employment proficiency test.
• Criminal Justice/fingerprint clearance
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Administers tests.
• Confers with teachers and/or parents as may be required.
• Implements instructional programs and lesson plans, (e.g. reading, math, language, comprehension, writing, computer, etc.).
• Instructs students (individual or small groups), (e.g. reading, math, spelling, self esteem, behavioral skills, daily living skills, etc.).
• Maintains classroom equipment, work area students files/records, (e.g. clean up after various class projects, entering grades, adapting instructional materials, audiovisual equipment, etc.).
• Monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments, (e.g. classrooms, rest rooms, hallways, cafeteria, labs, field trips, etc.).
• Participates in in-service workshops and training
• Performs record keeping and clerical functions, (e.g. scheduling, copying, instructional materials, correcting papers, compiling lists, etc.).
• Picks up and/or delivers homework/assignments to students at home
• Responds to emergency situations, (e.g. injured student, fights, etc.)
• Assists other personnel as may be required
