Job summary

Springboro Junior High School is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students with identified special needs, helping them complete assignments and participate in class activities. The role reports to the building principal and works under the district's special education program.

Essential duties include assisting students with academic tasks, reinforcing material in groups, accompanying them on field trips, supporting evaluation discussions, and maintaining regular attendance.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Educational Aide Certificate (may be obtained after employment).
• Must possess valid Ohio driver's license.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in completing academic assignments and self-help tasks in all curricular areas, working towards IEP goals.
• Works with small groups of students to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Accompanies students on class field trips or community experiences.
• Serves as a resource person to the evaluation team conferring about the assigned students.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
• Assists students in daily tasks as assigned by the teacher or supervisor.
• Demonstrates positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Establishes a supportive and sympathetic relationship with students.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
