Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking Teacher Associates to support students in a seven-hour day role. You will work under professional staff with individuals or groups, assist with supervision, and help implement behavior strategies.

The position may involve health assistance under nurses, preparation of teaching materials, mealtime support, and bus-related duties across district buildings. Start date is to be determined; pay is $17.26 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of professional staff, work with students individually or in group settings.
• Assist with supervision of students (classroom, cafeteria, halls, etc.).
• Implement behavior management strategies.
• May include riding the bus with students.
• May include working one-to-one with a student to complete assigned tasks
• Student supervision required.
• Ensuring student safety is required.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist students with the necessary health assistance under the guidance of the nurses.
• Assist in the preparation of materials used in the educational process.
• Assist students at mealtime.
• Assist students in personal hygiene areas.
• Help get students to and from the bus or car.
• Other duties as may be assigned
• Assignments may vary based building and district needs
