Job summary

Clear Creek Amana Community School District seeks an Aide/Associate at Oak Hill Elementary to support teachers in educating students with disabilities in various settings and to help enhance learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
• Post-secondary coursework in education or related field preferred but not required.
• Initiative and self-starter attitude.
• Ability to work well with teachers, staff, administrators, and parents as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Assist classroom teacher with educational activities.
• Follow behavior management plans.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials.
• Perform personal care duties for students with disabilities as needed.
• Prepare attendance cards and reports.
• Address and provide physical and health supports (feeding and toileting).
• Under teacher direction, implement specific strategies to maintain/increase appropriate behavior and de-escalate inappropriate behavior.
• Supervise students in community/work settings.
