Job summary

The Saginaw Intermediate School District is seeking a Special Education Supervisor to lead and manage district SPED programs and services, ensuring legal and instructional standards are met. You will oversee curriculum related to SPED and supervise instructional staff, with a focus on student outcomes and compliance.

You will collaborate with the Executive Director of Special Education and district leaders, evaluating staff, coordinating professional development, and ensuring accurate reporting

Qualifications

• Michigan Teacher Certificate with endorsement in Special Education.
• Master’s Degree in Special Education (preferred).
• Full approval as a Supervisor of Special Education in Michigan.
• State of Michigan Administrator Certificate or ability to complete in three years.
• 3+ years of successful SPED administration or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Function as Special Education Administrator for the district.
• Administer SPED programs and services per mandates (federal, state, ISD).
• Assist Superintendent with supervision and evaluation of SPED staff.
• Monitor SPED data (attendance, state indicators, graduation, suspensions).
• Act as the Designee of the Superintendent in SPED matters.
• Oversee IEPs and ensure proper implementation and compliance.
• Provide oversight of SPED budget and resources.
• Coordinate staff recruitment and professional development.
• Liaise with staff, agencies and professional organizations.
