Special Education Substitute Teacher

Location: Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, United States

Position Type: Part-Time

Shift: 1st Shift - no weekends

Work Schedule: 8:00 - 4:00

Requirements
  • Teachers at Merakey School must have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a Bachelor's degree with at least 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
  • Must hold a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with the ability to attain public certification within a reasonable timeframe from the date of hire.
  • Experience working with students with autism or emotional support needs is required, including student teaching experience.
Description

Join our team as a Substitute Special Education Teacher (AS) at our K-12 school in Mt. Pleasant, PA. We offer a pay rate of $200 per day. Your primary goal will be to provide specialized instruction tailored to each student's needs, empowering them to become confident and productive community members.

  • Design, supervise, and implement students' IEP plans.
  • Create and coordinate student schedules with related services and general education.
  • Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress.
  • Work effectively with a team of professionals to coordinate services.
  • Participate in staff development focused on working with students with Autism.
  • Implement innovative strategies to work effectively with students with Autism.
