Job summary

Rosalind Franklin STEM Elementary in Pasco, WA is seeking a Special Education Substitute Paraeducator to support students with special needs across classrooms, including Life Skills, Structured Learning, and Resource settings. The role involves one-on-one or small-group instruction, supervision, basic personal care assistance, and collaboration with teachers to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Paid training is provided. Hours vary, on-call/as-needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Prior paraeducator experience, college, or on-the job experience preferred but not required.
• Experience working with students who are special needs preferred but not required.
• Valid First aid and/or CPR card for infants and children or willing to obtain.
• Prior experience in a K-12 school setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Life Skills, Structured Learning Classes, Self-Contained, Resource Room, Extended Resource Room and/or any Specialized Program.
• Administers basic first aid in emergencies.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction.
• Assist teachers with classroom management and material preparation.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, and transportation-related activities.
• Assist with administering tests and recording progress as directed.
• Support with daily school activities and maintain safety in the classroom.
