Job summary

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Student Teacher Supervisor within the College of Education to shape the careers of future educators. This role focuses on supervising student teachers and coordinating with the College of Education's field experiences in Decatur, GA.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s in Education or related field, be certified in Special Education, and possess at least three years of teaching experience, with strong assessment and mentoring skills to guide

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Education or related field required.
Current and Valid State Teacher Certification/License - Special Education required.
Minimum 3 years teaching Special Education.

Responsibilities

Complete formal observations of the Student Teacher Candidate.
Analyze and critique observations with identified strengths and refinements.
Be knowledgeable about assessment instruments and evaluation procedures.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with cooperating schools/districts.
Maintain effective communication with the Cooperating Teacher and Office of Field Experience.
Provide information on development and implementation of future professional plans.
Encourage responsibility and creativity in the student teaching experience.
Keep adequate records on the Student Teacher Candidate.
Create and maintain a professional relationship with the Student Teacher Candidate and Cooperating Teacher.
