  • Demonstrates skill and sensitivity in working with all members of the school community
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with special education staff and student support teams
  • Experience or training in development and implementation of behavioral interventions preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with identified and eligible students who are “at risk” due to academic, social, emotional, and/or behavioral issues, including conflicts with others at school
  • Develop relationships, interventions, and supports for students experiencing academic, social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges
  • Provide support to students and staff in self-contained special education classrooms
  • Collaborate with special education staff and student support teams to address student needs and develop appropriate interventions
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Analyses (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Review academic and behavioral goals and make adjustments to interventions and supports as needed
  • Coordinate and monitor behavioral interventions and supports for identified students
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
