Job summary

Options For Youth Public Charter Schools in Fontana, CA seeks a Certificated Special Education Specialist to provide instruction to students with identified learning disabilities within our independent study program.

You will administer and score tests, schedule and conduct IEP meetings with families and staff, and coordinate evaluations with related service providers while tracking progress toward IEP goals.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree is required.
• CA Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate) with English Language Authorization (ELA).
• Intern-eligible candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students with special needs and identified learning disabilities in a special education program.
• Tutor individual and small groups, reinforcing language and reading concepts.
• Administer and score individual and group tests.
• Schedule and conduct IEP meetings, coordinating with parents, general education teacher(s), administrator, and service staff.
• Coordinate special needs evaluation and testing with other specialists, and communicate progress to parents.
• Record and maintain progress toward IEP goals.
• Support other academic programs within the independent study program.
• Perform other duties to support the Special Education Specialist program.
