Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking an Aide School Bus to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of students on all school buses. You will assist with boarding, securing students, and monitoring behavior while maintaining accurate attendance and bus schedules.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with experience in special education preferred. Full-time position with benefits, union affiliation, and participation in the City Retirement System.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to use and maintain school bus and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in boarding and disembarking from buses and secure them safely.
• Monitor student behavior on buses and maintain order.
• Maintain attendance records for students riding the bus.
• Assist in developing and implementing emergency evacuation plans and drills.
• Follow procedures when a parent or guardian fails to meet a child at the stop.
