Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials
• Uses a variety of effective instructional and management techniques
• Considers individual learning needs and abilities in lesson planning and assessment
• Utilizes district-adopted textbooks and curriculum guides
• Incorporates higher level thinking and real-life applications in planning
• Develops lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
• Maintains positive classroom and campus management
• Develops IEPs for each student from assessments
• Maintains communications with students and parents about progress
• Participates in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Ensures a safe learning environment
• Contributes to school goals and resolves concerns
