Job summary

The K12 North Star District is seeking an experienced educator to plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of settings. Through the IEP process, you will facilitate development in educational, social/emotional, communication, gross and fine motor, and adaptive areas.

The position requires a valid Alaska SPED certificate and familiarity with state and federal SPED laws. Excellent benefits accompany a minimum 184-day contract.

Qualifications

• Experience with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and related processes.
• Knowledge of state and federal Special Education laws.
• Ability to meet content area requirements for Alaska qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences for students with disabilities in various settings.
• Facilitate development in educational, social/emotional, communication, and motor areas through the IEP process.
