Wareham Public Schools seeks a Collaborative and highly organized Special Education Program Administrator to lead the district’s out-of-district placement work and provide administrative and instructional leadership for designated special education programs, including programs at Wareham Elementary School.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or higher) in special education, educational administration, or related field.
• Massachusetts Administrator of Special Education license required.
• Minimum 3 years of successful special education teaching experience.
• Minimum 3 years in administrative or supervisory roles.
• Solid knowledge of federal and MA special education requirements, IEP processes, placement, and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Out-of-district coordination and management of referrals, searches, placements, transitions, and ongoing case management.
• Serve as primary contact for families, district teams, programs, and agencies involved with placements.
• Coordinate required team meetings, documentation, progress monitoring, and site visits.
• Monitor student needs and progress; plan transitions or changes in programming with teams.
• Provide guidance and leadership for assigned programs, including Wareham Elementary School.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate special education staff as designated.
• Review data to identify needs and recommend improvements.

Education

Master’s degree or CAGS in special education, educational administration, or a related field

Massachusetts Administrator of Special Education license

At least three years of successful special education teaching experience

At least three years of successful administrative or supervisory experience

Strong knowledge of federal and Massachusetts special education requirements, IEP processes, placement, and service delivery
