Qualifications

• Master's degree in special education or equivalent required.
• Michigan Administrator Certificate or equivalent credential.
• Minimum of 4 years work experience in special education.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state and federal mandates including IDEIA and ESSA.
• Develop administrative procedures and prepare state and federal reports.
• Review confidential student files for compliance.
• Serve as contact person for parents, teachers, principals, and outside agencies.
• Conduct in-service training for special education staff.
• Assist principal(s) with staff evaluations in special education.
• Provide and maintain child count information as required by regulations.
• Assist in adapting Academy policies for special education needs.
• Supervise the effectiveness of the special education program regularly.
• Order testing supplies and contribute to development of academy philosophy.
