Job summary

EDU-AIDs is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team in Downs, Illinois. You will support students with special education needs and help implement IEP goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or college credits preferred (varies by district/state).
• Paraprofessional certification or ParaPro assessment may be required.
• Experience with children in educational, childcare, behavioral, or special education settings.

Responsibilities

• Support students with special education needs and help implement IEP goals.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group academic support to students.
• Monitor student behavior and encourage positive classroom conduct.
• Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and bulletin boards.
• Support students with personal care needs when required (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility assistance).
• Communicate student concerns and progress to teachers and other educational staff.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
