Job summary

Edinburg CISD is seeking an Instructional Aide/Special Needs paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in a self-contained setting. The role works under the supervision of the Special Education teacher and campus principal to implement IEP goals and provide academic, social, and emotional support.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, managing materials, and maintaining a safe learning environment while collaborating with teachers and parents.

Qualifications

• TEA certification requirements.
• No Child Left Behind Act requirements for paraprofessionals (requirements listed).
• High School Diploma or GED requirement.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to manage time and organize work.
• Ability to communicate with parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with IEP-directed activities.
• Provide physical and instructional support to students.
• Plan and discuss daily activities with the Special Education Teacher.
• Guide students in reading, math, and other curriculum tasks.
• Assist with feeding, restroom, and transitions as needed.
• Maintain classroom organization and safety under teacher supervision.
• Support with testing, materials distribution, and clerical tasks.
