Eden Prairie Schools is seeking applicants for the position of Special Education Paraprofessional in Community Education. The paraprofessional will assist students with mobility, self-care, communication, and social interaction needs to maximize participation in classroom activities.

Qualifications include a two-year degree or higher or passing ParaPro test, and a willingness to work with students with special needs.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or higher or MN ParaPro test required.
• Basic child development background preferred.
• Willingness to work with students with special needs.
• Able to work independently and follow instructions.
• Demonstrated communication skills and patience.
• Experience with special education including EBD/LD/MMH.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Follow teacher's plan and communicate with staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mobility, self-care, communication, and social needs to maximize participation in classroom activities.
• Support students during instructional activities and transitions.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow the teacher's plans and directions.

Education

Two year degree or higher

60 credits toward a degree

MN ParaPro test passing score
