The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has a Full-Time opening for a One-on-One Special Education Paraprofessional in the PRIDE program located at 401 Education Center in Chaska, MN.

The PRIDE (Practicing and Reaching Individual Dream Everyday) Program serves students at our 401 Education Center location in grades 9-12. PRIDE is an Autism Program (ASD), Emotional/Behavioral Program (EBD), and a Developmental Cognitive/Behavioral Program (DCD).
Description:
Special Education Paraprofessional, 7 hours a day for 183 Contract Days. Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher. Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students. Works individually or in small groups.
Pay & Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $20.00-24.00/hr based on experience. Competitive and comprehensive benefit package available:
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
Qualifications:
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college credits) OR an Associate degree (or higher) OR the successful completion of the Paraeducator training and assessments,
• The ability to obtain the PCA/CFSS certificate.
• Experience working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required. Training is offered by the school district.
• Must pass a background check.
• Capable of discretion/confidentiality.
